A Wart
Salicylic Acid
The papillomavirus is hugely
contagious.
You should go to great
lengths to avoid contact with other
people’s warts.  Actually, you should
be to great lengths to avoid contact
with your own warts.  You can, and
will, pass the virus to other parts of
your own body and to the bodies of
others.  What do to?  Thoroughly
wash your hands every time you
come into contact with your warts or
the warts of others.
Warts are a very bothersome and embarrassing
condition that is brought about by the  human
papillomavirus.  There are several home remedies
that are quite effective in getting rid of warts.
Salicylic acid, duct tape and apple cider vinegar can all
be applied to warts.  Daily removal of dead skin and
re-application for several weeks or months may be
necessary to fully get rid of warts.  Remember,
patience is a virtue.  Warts are very contagious so
always wash your hands after coming into contact
with your warts or the warts of friends, family and
enemies.  Good luck in your war against warts!
Warts Are Contagious
This acid acts as an irritant that eats away
at the wart.  Salicylic acid is found in castor
oil, vitamin C tablets (crush them up and
mix with water to form a paste) and aspirin.
Apply the salicylic acid to the wart, cover
with a band aid and let the magic begin.  Remove the band aid daily and rub off
the dead portion with an emery board.  Warts are stubborn cusses so you will
have to repeat this process for several weeks.  Be patient, the wart will
eventually go away.

Duct Tape
You have to love any solution that involves duct
tape!  Tape your wart when it is damp, remove the
tape daily to file away any dead skin, and repeat
this process for several weeks.  The irritation caused
by the tape forces your immune system to fight the
papillomavirus.  That’s one theory of duct tape’s
effectiveness.  Another theory is that duct tape fixes
everything!
The four most common types of
warts are:  Common warts, thick and
dark bumps usually found on the
hand, fingers, elbows and knees.
Flat warts, smoother and oval in
shape, frequently appearing on the
face.  Plantar warts, found on the
bottom of the foot, often very painful
due to its location.  Genital warts,
found on the skin on and around the
genital region, should always be
treated by trained medical personnel.
Types of Warts
Soaking your warts in hot water accomplishes two things.  It softens your
wart so you can more easily file away dead using an emery board.  It also
creates an inhospitable environment for the wart virus, perhaps impeding its
growth and possibly killing it.  Use caution and never use water that is hot
enough to scald you.  The optimum temperature is around 110 degrees.
Hot Water
People swear by this wart remedy.  Douse apple cider
vinegar on a cotton ball and apply directly on the wart.
Rub Vaseline on the surrounding skin to protect it from
the vinegar before applying the soaked cotton.  Hold the
cotton in place with tape or a band aid and repeat daily
until the wart disappears.

Contrary to popular lure, touching a frog does not cause warts.  Warts are the
result of a very common viral infection caused by viruses in the human papillomavirus
family.  The virus is very common with innumerable strains that affect about 40% of
all humans and it is very contagious.  Warts can grow on any part of your body.
They are bothersome, can bleed, cause pain when bumped and are very
embarrassing (for what reason, I don’t know).  Fortunately, there are several home
remedies and easily obtained over-the-counter solutions to wart problems.
You Can Get Rid of Warts
If none of the tips on this page work (and remember, warts take several
weeks or months to fully remove) you may want to have your wart removed by
freezing them with liquid nitrogen, cutting them off surgically or using laser
removal techniques.
